Taste of Time

This short animation shares family recipes of four people from across the US. It was intriguing to speak with them about their heritage and the dishes they valued, and to bring their stories and recipes to life through illustration and animation. One of my artistic goals in this project was to portray the visual attractiveness of food and the dynamic processes of cooking; my process therefore involved substantial experimentation with color and textures in Adobe Illustrator and with various animation techniques in Adobe After Effects.
